I did some digging for you on Hoodia 1000 and I couldn’t find much (other than what I found on the eBay listings for this product). To answer your first question, it’s probably “safe” to take them but I doubt they’ll do anything for you. Let me explain…
When you buy hoodia diet pills you want to make sure they contain authentic hoodia gordonii. The easiest way to determine this is to go to the manufacturer’s website and look for a C.I.T.E.S. certificate. This is a required document to export hoodia gordonii from South Africa – where this cactus-like plant is found. I tried to find a website for Hoodia 1000 but all I could find was online stores that sell it. I couldn’t actually find the manufacturer’s website.
Another red flag is the price. Authentic hoodia gordonii isn’t cheap. It will cost about $60/bottle for the real deal. If you’re getting a bottle for much less than that, I can almost guarantee you’re not getting geniune hoodia gordonii – at least not a lot of it anyway!
There are other things you can look for was well. I’ve provided a link below that outlines the 10 things to look for when you buy hoodia diet pills. I doubt that Hoodia 1000 contains authentic hoodia gordonii and if it does, it likely contains very little.
Why is this important? Only hoodia gordonii suppresses appetite – and it takes a lot of it in supplement form. Some experts say as much as 3 grams per day.
This product claims to have an “equivalent of 1,000mg of hoodia gordonii.” If you look at the label, you’ll see it’s actually an extract and not an actual capsule of hoodia gordonii in powder form.
In other words, you’ll see something like this on the label – 20:1 instead of 1,000mg. There is no exact equivalency from extract to powder. It’s impossible to tell if a 20:1 extract is really equal to 1,000mg of hoodia gordonii in powder form. The bigger concern I would have is did they use hoodia gordonii in the first place to create the extract!
The largest pure hoodia gordonii diet pill on the market today is 750mg. All these other 1,000mg and 5,000mg capsules you see are extracts. They are not the same as the pure hoodia gordonii powder capsules.
Regarding your concern about putting the weight back on, that’s more of a general weight loss issue and isn’t unique to diet pills. I could write a book on this subject, but suffice to say, most people that lose weight also lose muscle – and too much of it. You need muscle to burn fat. So if you lose muscle, you lose the ability to burn fat. When people go off their diets, they don’t have the muscle available to burn fat. The result is they put on weight, and often times more weight than they started with!

these tablets are made from the hoodia cactus plant found in the kalahari desert and used by tribes to combat hunger i think they are safe and they do work i believe
Not sure on that brand. But…
I tried 100% Hoodia and……
Hoodia has worked for me…and with no side effects.
Check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program.
For all you doubters, here is the prior feedback for another Answers user who followed my advice:

**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF —
#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia…look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!
#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!
#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.
#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!
Hoodia (HOOD-ee-uh) gordonii – A genus of 10 to 20 species from southwestern Africa.
Hoodia gordonii is the stoneage wonder plant found throughout the dry arid regions of the South western African continent now on the verge of making history in the fight against obesity. It is a genus belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family which consists of approximately 20 species. Used to stop hunger, quench thirst, and provide energy among other things since prehistoric times, Hoodia gordonii was first discovered by the San tribesmen and women to get through the most difficult of times.

they work to supress ur appetite and thrist…..not good for your body…can sometimes make you dehydrated…..its just better to eat wise and excercise…no clinical data yet to support it as safe and the side effects are not known…its too recent and like other fads…it will die down or be banned soon…..u need to eat…but just eat healthy and fat free…good health is the motive and not just weight loss!
